The Lamplight Sessions

We’re excited to announce our new EP, “The Lamplight Sessions”, out 11th October 2019 and a run of autumn shows including a monthly residency at Salford’s Eagle Inn.

Over the past few months, we’ve been shacked up at the Sulking Shed Studios in West Yorkshire and the first fruits of these recordings will emerge this Autumn, to be heard in our upcoming EP: ‘The Lamplight Sessions’.

The four tracks ‘Bully’, ‘Come Over Here’, ‘You And I’ and ‘M6’ were recorded under the watchful eye of esteemed engineer and EP co-producer Greg Turner (From The Kites of San Quentin / We The Dead), and will be released via AWAL on 11th October 2019.

After a summer hiatus from playing together, we’ll be airing our new songs at a series of gigs on live stages across the Northwest, which include a special hometown residency of shows at Salford’s Eagle Inn.

“Headlined by DoveTales, ‘The Lamplight Sessions @ The Eagle’ residency series will see the band showcasing old and new tunes from their ever expanding repertoire once every month until Christmas. Featuring especially curated guests for each of the nights, the shows are guaranteed to be an individual, inviting and engaging live experience.”

Another corker of a night!!

Woah another corker of a night at the Eagle Inn, Salford, last Tuesday, we had a top night! Thanks for coming and for your love and support, it means a lot! And thank you to Emma Mould for her amazing set to start off the night. I love watching her, great voice (with a great laugh!) and a heart of gold. Once we were on, I couldn’t see many of you (lights in my face!) but when I did, it was sooo nice to see your beaming faces, smiling and dancing and cheering the house down! With each gig we’ve added more harmonies, and it’s been great singing 3 part harmonies with Johnny and Victor on loads of tracks, there’ll definitely be more of that in the future! We’ve played at the Eagle a few times this past year and it’s always been a real pleasure to play there. So….we’ll be back again in September, hopefully see you there! In the meantime we’ll be enjoying a summer full of new-tune-making and jolly-good-time-making!

Peace, love and ice-cream,

DoveTales

We love the Eagle!!

What a great night we had at Eagle Inn, Salford!! Such an ace venue! Thanks to all that made it down, it was a full house! We loved it. Wished we could have played through the night! Made us smile hearing you sing along to our new track, ‘Knapsack’…”It’s good to be back, With a knapsack on my back, Oh tell me what have I missed while I’ve been gone?”….with Chris Joyce totally going for it on his kit (loving the clippety-cloppity horse effects, Chris, cracks us up every time, it’s brilliant!!) in this mega fast country number. It’s great having a long set list of different tunes to show you, one song I’m singing, next song Johnny’s singing, next it’s all three of us harmonising together, with Victor throwing in some quality harmonic moves, it’s great fun and a real pleasure to be making music with these boys!

Loving seeing your faces and dance moves and loving the great feedback and support, it’s good to know you’re enjoying DoveTales as much as we are!!

We’re back at the Eagle Inn, Salford, Tuesday 25th June. Come and see us. You will be genuinely glad you did.
